12 December 2007 - Rarely-heard recordings of birdsong from the biodiversity hotspot of Madagascar have been compiled and released by the British Library. The 127 Madagascar birds featured on the CD include rare species previously unpublished. Among the rarest sounds is the call of the Red-shouldered Vanga, recorded in 1997 at the moment of the first reported observation of this species in the wild. Read more on British Library
